Boerboel International (BI) is an international representative association of breeders, members, and Boerboel owners.〔http://www.boerboelinternational.eu〕 The Boerboel is a large, mastiff breed of dog which is originally from South Africa. In early 2008, Boerboel International was formed by a group of serious Boerboel breeders who were not satisfied with the direction the leading Boerboel breeding association at the time, SABT, was taking. The Boerboel breed had been fully recognized by the Kennel Union of South Africa (KUSA). ==Declarations== Boerboel International operates on the following principles: * BI puts the Boerboel first. * BI undertakes to put the Boerboel in its rightful place in the international dog world. * BI undertakes to render a world class service at an affordable fee. * BI undertakes to acknowledge and accept certificates of all Boerboels of any association into their acceptance register. * BI undertakes to accept all Boerboels without any previous recorded history into their acceptance register if the relevant Boerboel reaches an appraisal of 80%. * BI undertakes to share their knowledge of the Boerboel and to conserve and improve the breed. * BI undertakes to train judges and senior judges to be representatives worldwide. * BI undertakes to establish a breed improvement scheme that includes an appraisal, temperament test, and health report to ensure all Boerboels that will be accepted in the breed register are of an equal international standard.
